First baby calf of the season.

The pic is not great but it is of the first calf of the season. Bryan moved the cattle to a new pasture and thought one of our heifers looked like she could have calved. It is three week early so he was unsure, but decided to open the gate so she could go back if she did indeed have a calf. Sure enough she has a fine calf. 

Calving season is a busy time when you are on a constant lookout for trouble but is also an exciting time on the ranch. Hopefully there will be many more trouble free births.
