Cow type is connected to profitability

Several years ago we made the decision to start using Pharo bulls. The Pharo blood line has been developed to enhance the ability of the animal to efficiently utilize the forage the Creator placed out on the range. We made this decision because having to purchase expensive inputs such as cubes and hay destroy the ability to have a profitable cow/calf business. 

The heifers we are producing with the Pharo bulls will typically be a 3 or 4 frame cow when 4-5 years old. They will weight in the 1100-1250 range. That is big enough. As frame score increases thickness, fleshing ability, and grass efficiency decrease. Why own cows you have to work to maintain? Own cows that work for you!
